Verified clinician marketplace ยท Uganda

Staff your ward with verified health professionals you can trust.

Matendo Health connects Ugandan facilities with fully licensed independent clinicians. You state the ward and the skills needed. Only clinicians who meet every requirement and hold verified, up‑to‑date credentials can take the duty. You agree the fee directly with the clinician, and Matendo processes the payment securely on their behalf.

Every clinician is checked against their council register, and every skill on their profile has evidence and a date behind it.

The four things facilities ask us first

Are they who they say they are?Every licence is checked against the council register, UNMC, UMDPC, Allied Health or Pharmacy, before anyone reaches you.
Will they turn up?They check in and out on site, so you can see who arrived and when, without chasing anyone.
And if something comes up?The duty reopens straight away to everyone else who qualifies for it, and you can see who is free.
How does the money work? You offer a fee. A clinician accepts it. Matendo brings the two of you together, handles the paperwork and pays them for you. Every line is itemised, in UGX.

Two pools, one standard of checking

The right clinician, specialist or general

Matendo Health applies the same high‑standard verification whether a duty needs a scarce specialist in Kampala or general cover upcountry. What changes is the duty itself. Matendo shows a duty only to clinicians who hold the exact credentials required, fully verified and current.

Clinicians in a modern ICU or theatre Specialist unit (ICU / oncology)

Specialist cover

For oncology and ICU units, theatres, renal services, research sites and trials, wards where the duty asks for a named competence and a register category, not just a cadre. Ask for dialysis, cytotoxic handling or GCP and only clinicians holding it, in date, will ever see the duty.

General cover

For clinics, district and upcountry facilities, maternity homes and NGOs that need dependable cover, quickly, anywhere in Uganda. The same checks, and the same evidence behind every skill. You still say what the ward needs.

How it works

Four steps, start to finish

1

Describe the duty

Cadre, ward, dates and the fee you are offering. Choosing the ward suggests the skills it usually needs. Add or remove any of them.

2

Only qualifying clinicians see it

Matching checks the cadre, every skill you required, and the minimum register category. A lapsed certificate stops counting the day it lapses.

3

Agree terms with the clinician

The engagement is between your facility and the clinician. Attendance is evidenced on site, and you are billed for the hours actually worked.

4

One statement, fully itemised

The clinician’s fee, Matendo’s service fee and the VAT on it appear as separate lines. Your facility remains the withholding-tax agent; Matendo does the arithmetic.

1

Apply and get verified

Once, properly, credentials checked against your council.

2

Say what you can do

Your cadre is the start. Add the skills you can evidence, and if Matendo does not list one, tell us in your own words and we will look at it.

3

See what is holding you back

If duties are not reaching you, the app names the reason and the one thing to do next. Never a score you cannot act on.

4

Decline freely, get paid promptly

Every offer shows the fee before you accept, and you may decline any of it. Payment reaches your Mobile Money after the facility confirms the hours.

Why Matendo

We're not a job board.

A directory lists names and leaves the checking to you. Matendo verifies every credential against its issuer, records how each skill was evidenced and when it must be looked at again, and stops a clinician being offered a duty the moment something lapses.

Request a clinician
Is this worker real, and are their credentials valid?
Do they hold the skills this ward needs, in date?
Is their register category right for this duty?
Are we billed only for hours actually worked?
Is every line itemised well enough to put in front of URA?

Your profile, your evidence, your decision.

Get verified once. Add the skills you can evidence, a specialty only ever widens what you can accept, it never narrows it. See the fee on every offer before you accept, decline anything that does not suit, and be paid by Mobile Money once the facility confirms the hours. You remain an independent clinician throughout; Matendo is not your employer.
